Engaged Sweeper II
We have a project for replenishing old computers, based on hardware information.
We met a strange issue on Processor information, where processor name is: Intel Pentium III Xeon processor & SocketDesignation: is Microprocessor, or Proc 1, Or Proc 2, Or Socket 775, Or Intel Core i3-3220 CPU @ 3.30GHz.
Too many type of processors are generic named: P III Xeon. Probably this is also on AMD or etc....
In this way we need to check each computer by type ex.: x86 Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 6, what kind of processor is in fact on Intel site. Correct the report in excel, and so on...

Could this information be included, not to waste time on Intel/AMD and other sites, step by step searching?
Thanks’ in advance, eager to hear your opinion.

You're encountering a known bug in Windows XP. MS support page.

Microsoft offers a hotfix that can be installed on the offending machines. Subsequent scans should correctly identify the processor.

Hi & thank you!
Deploying Hot-fix package via Lansweepr seems to solve some.
Still have some, well' see what other issues can accrue.
