I'd like to find out who on our faculty & staff don't have a certain software so I can get it installed for them.
Anyone have any tips on how to create a query which gives me a "not/equal to" result?
Thanks!

In 5.2 you can try creating a "Dynamic asset group", select all domain controllers and select software not like "your software name"
Dynamic asset groups can be used to create simple reports with basic conditions.
