Question

Can users from an untrusted domain log in to Lansweeper?

Answer

If you want users to log in to the Lansweeper on-premises web console, they must do so with a Windows user account.

For users to be able to log on to the Lansweeper web console, they should either be located in:

  • The domain of the Lansweeper web server.
  • A trusted domain or the same forest as the Lansweeper web server.

If there is no trust relationship between your Lansweeper web server and the domain where your users are located, the preferred solution is to establish a trust relationship.

Alternative

The Windows user account used to log in to the web console can be a domain account configured in Active Directory (provided it is a trusted domain) or, alternatively, an account configured locally on the server hosting your Lansweeper web console (the Lansweeper web server).

Therefore, the only option for allowing users from an untrusted domain to log in with personal accounts is to set up Windows accounts locally on your Lansweeper web server.
