Question

Does the Lansweeper On-Premise installation support SAML 2.0 authentication (Office 365 / Azure AD)

Answer

No. SAML 2.0 authentication, including integration with Office 365 (Azure AD), is currently supported only on the Lansweeper Cloud platform. The On-Premise Lansweeper installation does not offer built-in support for SAML 2.0 or other federated single sign-on (SSO) methods.

Supported authentication methods for Lansweeper On-Premise

Authentication in an On-Premise Lansweeper environment is limited to the following options:

  • Local Lansweeper user accounts configured directly on the web server

  • Integrated Windows Authentication using Active Directory (AD)

Helpdesk functionality and alternatives

At this time, helpdesk functionality is not available in Lansweeper Sites and is not on the current roadmap. Instead, Lansweeper focuses on integration with established ITSM platforms to deliver ticketing and service management capabilities.

The following ITSM integrations are available through the Lansweeper Marketplace:

  • Freshservice
  • HaloITSM
  • Jira Service Management
  • ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus

These integrations allow you to link Lansweeper assets directly to incidents, service requests, and change records within your ITSM tool.

Automation with Flow Builder

You can further extend Lansweeper functionality using Flow Builder, which enables automated workflows such as:

  • Automatically creating tickets when a new asset is discovered
  • Opening incidents when critical vulnerabilities are detected

Flow Builder connectors are available for platforms including Freshservice, ServiceDesk Plus, Jira, and Zendesk.
