Active scanning question

I was finally able to upgrade from Lansweeper 3.2 to 3.5.1 today. I wanted to turn on active scanning but my system administrator would like more information.

How does Lansweeper query the Domain Controllers? Also what interaction does Active scanning have on the network over all? Any other information I should tell my System Admin?

Very sorry about this.

My system engineer rejected it saying this was not enough information on how Lansweeper active scanning works. We have a very defined network with lots of users. He said he needs to know everything active scanning does on the network and how it does it.

Active scanning queries the domaincontrollers of the specified domains every 15 minutes.
Is sends an ldap query asking for the computers seen by that domain controller in the last 15 minutes.
Depeding on the waittime and the last scan these computers are put into the scanning queues.
