Hi,

I've found a message in the error log saying

Cannot connect to database, check your config file, service will be stopped
An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26 - Error Locating Server/Instance Specified)

How do i solve this problem? Another question is yesterday I have already triggered the scan successfully, but today using the same servername, computer and domain, it failed. Is there any possible reasons for this to happen?

In your lansweeperservice.exe.config file you can find to which sql server the service is pointing to.
On this server check the services and make sure mssqlserver is running, check the eventlog for any sql errors.

Thanks for the reply, but how do I check if the database server is running? If it's not running, how do I activate it?

Check if your database server is running.
This error indicates it's not running that's why the service can't start.
