There is a nice posibility to see changes done by a lot of things... within Lansweeper this is called "changes by type".
Now, I want to search within this log to see when software was installed on what PC?
Can this be done? How?

What does the "action" field mean and how long can this log grow in time/lenght?

You can create a custom report based on the "tblsoftwarehist" table or you can try beta version 4.1 which has this feature.
