clientless scanning?

Two things I can't figure out from the documentation:
1. How can I start a scan manually?
2. Can I do a scan without the client installed?

1) on the client run "lsclient.exe hostnameofserver"
2) you can use the scheduled scanning in the lsmanage interface.

Remark :
lsclient is recommended.
lsclient doesn't install anything on the client
