I've tried the free version but have had terrible time getting client inventory because of RPC and WMI issues. I know there are docs attempting to resolve the issues (mostly either the clients are not configured properly or firewall blocking) but my test setup still does not work. It seems if I go ahead to deploy to my LAN, I will have many various issues to resolve.
I want to buy the premium version to get an inventory of my LAN but am wondering whether the Premium version also suffers various restrictions as the free version. It's not very clear to me what the benefits of premium version are (as far as inventory goes; I know there are other goodies bundled) other than it uses AD (I only have one domain) to get the list of clients. For example, does it still have issues with RPC/WMI/firewall? Could someone clarify on this?
Thank you!

Thank you. I set up another clean Windows XP client and turn off the firewall, it can scan the client fine... almost. I will ask in a new thread about the new question I have. Thank you.

Lansweeper does not have issues with RPC/WMI/Firewalls (premium or free)
The problem is caused by the incorrect configuration of your computers (firewalls,...)
Other products that rely on WMI will have this same problem.
