Engaged Sweeper
Hi All,

I've just begun to evaluate the free version of Lansweeper 3.2, so please forgive my naiveté. It appears that Lansweeper requires "File and Printer Sharing" to be enabled for it to function correctly. Is my assumption correct? And, is this also true for version 3.5, and the Premium edition?

Enabling "File and Printer Sharing" is something I'd really like to avoid. Do any of you share this concern? Just wondering.

Thanks,

Terry

You had me at "Version 3.5 (both freeware and premium) only requires WMI for the same functionality."

🙂

I just bought the Premium subscription and will be installing version 3.5 on a clean system.

Thanks for your prompt assistance ... I'm a happy camper!

Or better upgrade to 3.5 where it's not needed anymore.

Add a firewall setting that only allow access from your IP-range or just the lansweeper server and it should be fine...

Version 3.2 required WMI, remote registry service and file and printer sharing.

Version 3.5 (both freeware and premium) only requires WMI for the same functionality
