How to create custom scan with special port

greetings,

is there a way to add a custom asset and create a custom alert for it? this asset is not in the local LAN and at external network which I was able to create the asset. I'm looking to create scan for TCP port say 5589 on IP 198.6.1.2 and send an alert if it doesn't respond. I'm new to ur product and when I installed it and created a custom asset I was expecting to see an option to create scan right there. Also be able to create custom port to scan too.
