I have an AD server running 2003 and I downloaded SQL Express and Lansweeper 3.5. I for whatever stupid reason cannot get the applications to sync up correctly. If I understood the online website instructions correctly installing Lansweeper on an AD server was the best way to capture all users/computers??? Whenever I originally installed it seemed like the application was working however it only scanned itself. The main reason I went with Lansweeper was it appeared to do what I needed for SOX and HIPAA compliance to identify all stations, software, etc on my network. I think I have monkeyed with the install too long and am too frustrated!!!!! Any advice would be great!

Just create a .bat with the contents looking something like this :

\\server\share\lsclient.exe lsserver

Then create a GP that runs the batch file on login and apply to the users you want to keep track off. The lsclient runs briefly, telling the server that it there, and exits.

I highly suggest reading the documentation carefully and getting a better idea of how this works before deploying in a live environment.
