Interesting lsclient issue.

Just getting started evaluating, so far it looks wonderful, but having problems with lsclient.exe here.


It will run as a startup script applied to the machines but not as a logon script applied to the users. When applied to the machine I get all the info except the user of course. Not a big deal we are not interested in that info as we really don't have the same user at the machines all the time and if we need that info we have other very easy ways to get it.


All the tests work from the server and clients. I can telnet to the lansweeper server from the client. No WMI errors nothing. For now I am using a domain admin account on the server service. All of that checks out. The odd part is that if I run the logon script after logging in as a user it runs just fine and the desktop reports in to the server. So that would make you think that the GPO is wrong. But the lsclient is just a small part of the logon script, there are many other things in there and they all run fine 100 percent.

Took AV and Firewalls off the test machines and lansweeper server. No joy.

Now here is the part that may be the answer. Our users are not local administrators. Could that be an issue?

And last, I have the money and approval for this, no problem at all and we will go with the premium version when we are done testing so fixing the lsclient is something I really don't need to do. Is there a way to 'test' or 'demo' the full AD system that does not use the lsclient? That would certainly be an easy way to skin this cat.

Let's go ahead and abandon this thread. I have the demo license and it is working perfectly. Appreciate all the help, awesome software. I have the paperwork going through for the purchase now.

Could you post the part of your login script please.
Is the client reporting to the server and then a WMI error or is the "lsclient sending" also not working
