Hello,
I am using the IP Address Report to list all the IPs in use for our network. The only thing is, it doesn't seem to be updating. I have the scans set to go twice a week, and the credentials for the entire subnet are correct. When I run the scan manually, it seems to scan just fine, but in the IP address list report old IP addresses that are no longer being used still show up, and a couple times it failed to pick up some new IP addresses in use. Is there something I'm missing?

I see, thank you for your reply. One question, what does it mean by "non-active"? Also, and I suspect I know the answer to this already, but we have some Linux systems that are not added to Active Directory, is there a way to have only Windows machines not found in Active Directory deleted?

"Non-active" is a computer "state". You can assign a state to a computer in the Custom Fields tab of its Lansweeper webpage. The default state is Active. Non-active computers are excluded from most reports, so assigning this state is an easy way to "ignore" a computer without actually removing it from your database.

Lansweeper only queries active directory for Windows computers. Machines that run a non-Windows operating system are currently considered "devices" in Lansweeper and are not influenced by computer cleanup options. They can also only be scanned through IP Range Scanning.

It mostly has to do with computers, there were a couple computers that had not been added to the database for whatever reason, until I manually added it. It seems to scan fine after that. I have the scan settings to scan the entire subnet.

-Will an old computer entry eventually "timeout" and be deleted? Is there an option for this? What about for devices?

Lansweeper does not delete any information from your database unless instructed to do so. You can automatically clean up your database using one of the options listed in the Lansweeper configuration console under Scanning Servers\(name of your server)\Options\Scanning & Cleanup Options.

- Cleanup options are currently only available for computers and users, not devices.
- You can manually delete devices by selecting them in the Lansweeper configuration console under Lansweeper\Scanned Devices and hitting the Delete button.
- Note that automatic cleanup actions are performed when the Lansweeper service is started and subsequently every 24 hours. If you've made any changes to your cleanup options and wish to apply them immediately, restart the Lansweeper service.

Could you please clarify whether the problem is related to computer or device IPs?
- When a computer is rescanned, its IP information is updated.
- When a device is rescanned, its IP information is updated if its MAC address has been scanned as well.
- When a device is rescanned, has a new IP and does not have a MAC, a new database entry will be created for it. The old device entry will not be deleted automatically.
