...Landsweeper gives me "can not connect" message after massive updates, including IE 8.
Any ideas?
OK. I uninstalled IE 8 and it works. Wow!

Looks like your database server wasn't started (most likely the updates stopped it)

Been busy, sorry.
This was in the error log for the date I had trouble:
8/26/2010 3:54:18 PM: Cannot connect to database, check your config file, will try again in 1 minute
A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: Shared Memory Provider, error: 0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.)
8/26/2010 3:55:21 PM: Starting up service 4.0.0.27, port 9524, 20 computer threads, 10 IP threads
