Lansweeper 5.0 beta: your first impression !

It'll be nice to see on the Summary tab of an Asset a monitor's model.

1.) Please consider enlarging the ASSET dropdown box from the main menu. Allowing it to grow dynamically would be ideal.

2.) Actions - it's been so long since I ran the previous version that I am going from memory .. but I think I recall that the list of actions for say a network switch was different than the action for a PC. If I pulled up a network switch or a printer, the list of actions was limited to such that would be allowed by the type of device. If I pulled up a PC or server the list would included those actions that could be performed only on a that device type. Is this intelligence gone in this new version?

Yes, computers and devices have been merged into "assets"

The Asset dropdown requires slider bars to navigate. The Dashboard dropdown will dynamically grow, Can you allow it to dynamically grow based on the amount of information it needs to display?

There has to be a limit, because otherwise customers on smaller screens might not be able to click all items. We have however made the dropdown larger now, within reasonable limits. This feature will be implemented in our next beta update.

We have added this feature request to our customer wish list. This will most likely not be implemented however, as this information is already displayed in the Config\Display\Monitor Serial section of computer webpages.

you can use a mix of the length of the list and the screen resolution (css/javascript) to make it dynamic enough to display the whole list if your monitor supports it.

We will discuss whether this can/will be implemented.

1.) When pulling up a list of assets and selecting PING ASSETS, I am locked in this screen until the ping is complete. For a large amount of assets I have to kill the session if I don't have time to wait.

2.) Web Security - if a user DOES NOT have rights to rescan an asset the ability to do so is allowed under the Reports Options - Rescan Assets.

3.) This probably is a feature request and not a bug report - Would be nice to limit who can add tabs and widgets. I'd like to have a standard template to assign end users. I can see some staff building too many tabs/ adding widgets that it might effect performance for others.

Don't ping so many assets 😉

It was an amazing software in first place after added features it got even more better .
features like switch port mapping with asset was just what was missing in network inventory tool that to now covered .good work keep it Up.
