Modifying Description

Currently I use the built in Computer Description within Windows to identify the location of the PC. I noticed in LS 5.0 that there is an option to modify the computer description. When I do this, does it do anything to the Windows computer description? If the Windows one and the LS one are different, which takes precedence?

No. The description is only changed within the Lansweeper database. You have to check the "lock against scanning" check box next to the field to prevent this database change from being overwritten during scanning. There is currently a bug in version 5 however that is preventing this particular field from locking properly. We should have a fix for this by next week.
