Ok I'm running Lansweeper on a Windows 2003 R2 box with SQL 2005 Express.

Lansweeper was installed as the default website and everything seemed to install correctly. I'm able to browse to http://servername and see the web console.

When I try to execute LSclient.exe on a workstation, the connection fails. I've tried:

LSclient.exe servername
LSclient.exe servername 80 (Wasn't sure if need to change the port or not, because I install on default website)

I tried running LSclient local on the server with "LSclient 127.0.0.1" and that worked.

Firewall is disabled. Any suggestions?

Second, when I run the Management Console, it wants the password for "lssqluser32"; what is the default password and how do I change it?

Thanks in advance.

If you get a connection failed when doing lsclient.Exe <servername> this can mean 3 things:
1) your service is not running (most likely)
2) the server is firewalled
3) you misspelled <servername>

I am new and I do not understand how to use the lsclient.

Do you have to put it on the workstation you are wanting to inventory?

how to you execute it?

I have copied the lsclient file to the workstation and in cmd navigated to where it is..

for example

C:\documents and settings\user\desktop>lsclient.exe x.xxx.xx.xxx <ip of comptuer where i installed everything.

connection failed.

What am I doing wrong. Can you just edit the lsclient.exe file so when you click on it, it automatically connects to the server?

Thanks for you help.

The default password is "mysecretpassword0*"
You can also log on with integrated authentication if your windows user has the necessary rights on the database.

Ok so if I do:

LSClient.exe IP

IP = IP Address of Server it works.
