Engaged Sweeper
Hi to all and sorry for my english,

we have Lansweeper 4.0.0.36 with premium license.

In our network we have a QNAP TS-219P

with firmware 3.3.0 Build 0629T

It is formally a NAS but also can act as ftp, mysql, NFS, web servers.

Lansweeper (alsop in previous versions) try to scan it as computer but fail and report

Cannot connect to DCOM port 135 : Firewalled? (storagename)
The RPC server is unavailable 0x800706BA (storagednsname, storagename, storageip)

We need to make some configuration in QNAP or change somewhat in Lansweeper configuration?

I hope to be clear. Thanks in advanced for any help.

King regards.

OK the operation was completed succesfully.

Now device has correctly identified as NAS.

But, now we have another questions:
#1 Can we specify alternate credential only for this device, for istance to access via SSH, that it's enabled on device but identified with red cross in lansweeper web console device specification?
#2 How we can obtain detailed (disk space, etc etc) from device that at this time have SNMP and SSH enabled?

Thanks. Regards

Create an IP range with only this IP address and fill in the needed SSH credentials.

Hi,
please confirm our steps.

#1 Lansweeper configuration->Scanning setup->Computer exclusions->Add NAS01 (and NOT NAS01.mydomain.local) to computer name.

#2 Lansweeper configuration->Computers->Select NAS01 and choose PERMANENTLY DELETE SELECTED COMPUTERS.

#3 Force IP RANGE SCAN.

Wait for your response, before to operate.
Thanks

Can you try the following:
1) add the computer name of the nas to the list of computers not to scan
2) remove the nas computer from the database
3) You should now be able to detect the nas with IP range scanning.

Hi,

#1 This NAS is always in database, from first our installation of 4.0.0.18 version.
#2 Yes, this NAS is joined to domain to allow folder permission management with domain users/groups. AD see it as a computer.
#3 This installation scan only mydomain domain, therefore we have not specify alternate domain credential.

Thanks.

Was this computer already in the database before the 4.0.0.36 upgrade?
Is this nas published as a computer in active directory?
Do you have specified alternate credentials for "mydomain"?
