When I click on remote control in the action menu it brings up lsremote.exe and the computer I am trying to connect to. I click ok and I get the message saying "can not ping to host" and I definitely can ping it. What am I doing wrong? I am using Vista Business and trying to connect to a XP Pro machine.

Yes it matters, maybe the service is already running on the same port.
Could you try uninstalling it.

Question, does it matter that I already have VNC loaded on my Vista machine??

I get the same result with the new lsremote.exe I also ran the connection tester from my vista machine to one of the remote workstations and everything came back fine, see attached.

I have turned off the firewall completley on the Vista and remote PCs, still have the same issue.

Do you have any vista firewall rules that block outbound traffic?

I had turned off the firewall completley on the host and remote PC still the same issue. I think it is a Vista problem. If I try to connect to the same workstation right from the lansweeper server it connects right away. If I do it from an XP machine it connects, but my Vista PC give me the error message above.

Stop the service: Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) on the remote computer.

Run it again, if it works then you need to put a rule in the windows firewall to allow lsremote.
