Hi,

I have a problem, where a laptop hostname has been changed and appears fine on the digital dashbaord with it's new name. But the old name also appears in red.

I have removed it from the Mangement console but it keeps reappearing.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Thanks. Where is the logon table? I can't see anything on the SQL server.

If you are sure that it is deleted from all the tables then some workstation must still report the name.
You can check in the logon table which IP address.

It gives me the new name.

When you go to the machine and type in "hostname" in the command prompt, what happens?

Has anyone had this problem and been able to fix it?

I have removed the hostname from our DNS and DHCP locally so there is no chance a machine with this name can gain access to the system.
The machine with the old hostname has been completely recreated and given a new name.

Yet it still appears in the dashboard.

HELP!

Hi Lansweeper,
Thanks for the reply.

The machines hostname has been changed hence it is appearing as it's new name.
The old name is no longer listed on our DNS server

So I still can't see where lsclient would be grabbing the name from?

When lsclient is run it reports it's hostname to the server.

If the name reappears after deletion this means that you still have a workstation with this name reporting to the server.
