Is there a way to change the scheduled rescan frequency? I am trying to monitor a particular EVENT ID and would like to see it more frequently.

If you want to change the frequency for eventlog scanning only you can use scheduled eventlog scanning from the configuration/scanning methods.

This will allow you to scan only the eventlogs every x minutes
