Is it possible to create a step by step guide pdf? To what services are needed to be started on PCs for successful wmi scan?
I have suggestion to what to include.
1. Advise admins how to configure Windows Firewall using group policy.
All our PCs use Windows firewall. I have configured group policy to allow exception on the firewall to allow remote administration through Windows firewall. I then used netsh command to confirm settings had taken effect.
From command promt type > netsh firewall show config
2. Include a table with all know errors and possible soultion
3. Advised admins to use startup scripts in Group Policy - to start services that are possible not started on machines not allowing remote scans.

4. How to use group policy to and use the repair wmi.bat in Startup computer script.
5. Also advise Admins about DNS scavenging for the Domain DNS zone, to enable this to remove stale and incorrect DHCP entries on DNS zone.
At the moment answers for common problems are difficult to find in the forum.
