Workgroup User Images

Is there a workaround to get user images to show up for scanned workstation computers?

Since currently it's based on the user information gathered domain\username to store the jpg files on the server it doesn't work for all the users I have in a workgroup.

While the computer information gather states the computers domain is "workgroup", the users information is all based on computername\username and I'm a little too lazy to make a folder for every PC I have in a workgroup even though it's only about 60.

I found a solution to this. Though it's what you said, I modified one of the files of the web site. It actually worked out well as I only had to modify 1 file to get the correct images to show up in all the places where user pictures show.

Basically what I did was to add a 'if statement' to check which domain it was looking up images for and if it didn't match one of the 4 domains we scan it defaulted to my workgroup folder.

So if I break things I'll make sure to undo that before I call you guys for help. And thanks for adding it to the wishlist.

We will add this feature to our customer wish list. To do this currently, you would have to make manual changes to your Lansweeper installation, which we do not support. Such changes may cause problems during upgrades.

I understand how it works.

But I'm not thrilled about making 60 folders for each of my remote machines to all store 1 user image. Whereas it would actually make far more sense to make 1 folder for my workgroup and store 60 user images in it.

So I was hoping that there was a mod I could do to the user web page to use computer domain\user instead of user domain\user to display pictures.

This is expected behavior, as the specified user accounts are local to each machine. A user called "lan" present on workgroup computer LAN-001 is unrelated to a user of the same name on workgroup computer LAN-002. This explains why you must submit two images, one for each distinct user.

For the proposed example you need two user picture folders, "LAN-001" and "LAN-002", each with a lan.jpg inside.
