I'm about to update to version 5.0.0.79 but need some more information on this point before i can proceed.

•Windows groups and user information is no longer scanned on domain controllers to increase performance


I currently report on group changes and account lock outs via lansweeper. I have set Scheduled Eventlog Scanning to scan all our DC every 5 minutes. Will this update break our reporting functionality? If so, is there a way to turn this off?

This will not turn off your event log scanning and email alerts. To turn event log scanning off you could disable EVENTLOG in the section Configuration=>Item wait time.
