Is there a certain directory lansweeper tools should be placed in before running? When I run either the connection test or the device test the first thing they report is "Version: Executable not found" and that the service is not running. I have verified the service is running, and tried to place the test tools in different directories, yet still the same 2 errors every time.

You need to run the connection tools on the server hosting the "Lansweeper Server" service. It doesn't matter which directory you run the tools from.

You can ignore the "Version: Executable not found" and "Warning: Lansweeper service not found" messages. These are due to a bug in the latest releases of the tools. As long as you see "Status: Running" under "Scanning Lansweeper Service", you're good to go.
