Lansweeper has multiple options to exclude assets from a scan. You can exclude a specific domain, IP or IP range or asset type. You indicated that your VOIP phones are being scanned as webservers. Lansweeper uses multiple protocols to retrieve information from your network devices. However, SNMP is the recommended protocol for network devices as this will provide Lansweeper with the most information.
We would recommend that you go over the steps below to try and scan the asset and get the most information:
- If you haven't already, enable SNMP on your network devices. Your device documentation should provide more information on how to do this.
- Test SNMP access to the devices with the Devicetester tool documented in this knowledgebase: https://www.lansweeper.com/kb/162/network-device-scanning-requirements.html
- Once SNMP access works in Devicetester, submit the devices for SNMP scanning as specified in this knowledgebase article: https://www.lansweeper.com/kb/161/how-to-scan-a-network-device.html
- Rescan the devices' IP ranges with the Scan Now buttons under Scanning\Scanning Targets.
If your VOIP phones are correctly scanned you can use the asset type to exclude them from future scans. Alternatively you can exclude the IP addresses or the IP range of the VOIP phones.
