Generate hyperlink to Asset Page Using HostName

I would like to be able to create a url of the form:

http://<your-lansweeper-server>/asset.aspx?hostname=<computername>

Having a list of computer names, it would be useful to be able to create a url as above and have Lansweeper display the particular asset if unique or a set of choices if more than one found. Alternatively using the FQDN instead of hostname/computer name would be an alternative option.

Having looked at Lansweeper again, it seems it can create duplicates. One asset is the just the Computer Name (Asset Type Windows) and another as the FQDN (Asset Type Network Device) starting with the same computer name. Is this a bug or a feature?
