Basically I want to hide all the monitors from the list. I still want them scanned cause it's cool to see what computer has which monitor. I just don't need to look through pages and pages of monitors.

I think currently the easier way to achieve this is to create a dynamic group which excludes monitors and just use that group to view your assets.
Obviously you could try and use the filters in the asset overview page, but unfortunately you can't use operators in the filters like <> or !=. This makes it pretty much impossible to filter for everything but monitors.
I'll link this topic to the feature request to allow operators to be used in the filter fields.
