looking for some help to disable a task in the task scheduler. Task Scheduler Library -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Setup -> GWX
disable the process launchtrayprocess
can it be done? It may be easier to stop it here then to roll back a computer. Plus, I can always reverse it and re-enable it if/when we go to 10.

after even more googleing, I found this:
http://www.howtogeek.com/218856/how-do-you-disable-the-get-windows-10-icon-shown-in-the-notification-tray/
and did the registry hack. It has worked for mine so far, and plan on pushing it out via GPO.
Edit registry, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows
create key GWX
in GWK key you may have just created, create new 32-bit DWORD DisableGWX, value = 1
