Engaged Sweeper
Hi,
We removed the Internet Explorer 8 feature from a few Win2008 servers using dism /disable-feature featurename:Internet-Explorer-Optional-amd64.
Lansweeper however keeps reporting that IE8 is still installed on the servers.
How does the detection of IE work and is this behavior correct?

Thanks for the help.

Kind regards,
Sander Knijn

If Internet Explorer isn't listed in Add/Remove Programs, Lansweeper will look for it in the registry locations below. We added this feature as many IE installations aren't listed in Add/Remove Programs (and this is what's recreated by the default software scanning procedure).

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
