Hi,

Is there a way to archive assets in Lansweeper to where they don't count as assets, but are still able to be viewed? Our goal is to have a history of assets that are retired, but since they aren't being used to not count towards asset count.

Or is there an out of the box way to keep this data even though we will need to delete the asset to free up licenses in the future?

Thanks,
Daniel

Asset has option

Not affected by cleanup options

Just a quick FYI, all assets in Lansweeper (aside from monitors) count towards your license, regardless of state.

Is this still the case? We would like to archive our old installation so we have the data just in case we receive equipment back from employees who are no longer working for the company and hasn't been scanned into the new system yet so we know who it was returned from.

Hi there! This is indeed still the case. You can find more information in the following KB article: Assets that count toward your licensed asset limit - Lansweeper

Thanks very much for your replies guys. Is e-mailing the only way to export data from Lansweeper, or can it be exported via job that will automatically save the report to a directory?

Thanks,

you can add a state (Configuration > Asset Pages > Asset States > Add Asset State) , call it 'Retired' (I use the term Decommissioned)... go to main assets page, choose your assets, mass edit the 'state' field, set to 'Retired'.

Then you can filter the main assets page by state = 'Retired', and export to excel.

Store the Excel file somewhere, and then filter assets page again by 'Retired', select all of those, and 'delete asset'

if you want more info on the assets, you can make a different report (Or edit reports - example 'software: List of software by computer' - join tblstate table, filter on state = 'retired') but doing stuff like that would take a bit of time.
