Engaged Sweeper II
Hi,

I am in need of editing multiple records with changes to different fields. Is there a way to do this? For example, record “A” may need field “X” updated and record “B” may need field “Y” updated and on down the line. I have 2000 records like this with varying updates needed to certain fields (in other words, no two records may get the same update and not all fields for a record need updating just 3 or 4 per record).

Does LS have a way to import these changes via excel or script? These are existing records and not new records.

Importing the changes from an Excel file isn't possible. The import feature built into Lansweeper only allows you to create *new* assets, not update existing ones. Options for editing data:
  • Hit the Edit Asset button on individual asset pages.
  • Click the Assets link at the top of the web console and hit the Editing Mode button on the left to insert changes directly into the page.
  • Click the Assets link, tick one or more assets and hit the Mass Change button.
  • Create a script and execute it under Configuration\Scanning Setup\Database Scripts. We do not provide support for writing custom scripts however.
