Your switches will most likely have been scanned as FTP servers because only the FTP port of these switches was accessible during scanning. What you can try to do:
- Make sure SNMP is enabled on the switches that you've mentioned. How to do this can be found in the switches' documentation.
- Check if SNMP is enabled by performing a connection test from your Lansweeper server to the affected switches using the Devicetester.exe, found in Program Files\Lansweeper\Actions on your Lansweeper server. More information about the Devicetester can be found here.
- Rescan the switches that have not been scanned correctly. You can read this article for more information on how to scan network devices like switches.
- If the switches are successfully rescanned through SNMP but their asset type is still incorrect, map the SNMP OID of the switches to the correct asset type. This can be done on the Configuration\Asset Mapping page by clicking the 'Add Snmp OID' button. More info on this can be found here.
Should the issue still persist, could you provide us with the following to help us troubleshoot:
- Program Files (x86)\Lansweeper\Service\Errorlog.txt, as present on your Lansweeper server.
- Screenshots of one problem switch's Lansweeper webpage. Show us the following tabs: Summary, Errors (if it exists).
- Screenshot of a connection test performed to the same problem switch with devicetester.exe, which can be found in Program Files (x86)\Lansweeper\Actions on your Lansweeper server. Perform the test from your Lansweeper server to the problem switch, submit your SNMP credential and show us the entire test window.
