Looking for a query/report that can do the following:

1. Continuously monitor the state of the CD-Rom.

2. If no media is found and state is the same the current process is closed and a new process is opened until the state of the drive changes.

3. When that cd-rom state changes (aka an user inserts a CD) the following information is pulled and put in an audit log:
a. that user's login
b. workstation name
c. a list of the names of the data and it's file type on the disk

Basically I'm trying to find a media tracker that will automatically log when a user puts a CD into the drive and also if the user tries to burns information to a disk/removable drive.

Anyhelp with this would be greatly apreciated.

I figured that it couldn't, but just wanted to ask because you never know. 🙂 Thanks.

There may be events you can log to track CD-Rom operations. As far as we know however, there is currently no way to track this information with Lansweeper.

Maybe this should be under the wishlist for lansweeper to add to its helpdesk functions.
