Not sure where to post this so I'll put it here in the wishlist area.

If lansweeper is already able to link Assets to a specific Switch Asset Network Interface port,
shouldn't it be able to add macs for devices it pings but can't scan fully? Instead of just adding it as "networkdevice" or something without any mac associated.
Isn't it already getting the mac info from the switch it's scanning right?
This would be great when scanning remote sites but having some annoying dhcp devices that roam around but cant get scanned. 🙂

Sure... we can add in a 2nd remote scanning server but don't see the need for that as it seems overkill.

You can't get MAC address via advertising if its on a different subnet... LS gets them via HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, etc, if it can...

what I end up doing is making a switch port report where deviceassetname is '' or null, but the assetmacaddress is not null.. that gives me the 'unknown devices on switches' then then I go from there...

else put in a remote scanning server...
