Hi,
My team and I are wondering if this is possible and if anyone has any recommendations on how we could potentially report the status of Macos Timemachine backups to Lansweeper. If anyone has ideas or a place to start it would be extremely helpful. My initial thought would be to check some sort of file status but beyond that I'm not sure what to scan for.
Thank you!

This capability will be enabled by our upcoming custom discovery feature, targeted for release by the end of the year. Once available, we can utilize it to execute the tmutil listbackups
command on macOS devices and store the resulting output within the asset details.

Hello!
Thank you for your replies. David, this is exactly what we are hoping to monitor. We are interested in is where Time Machine backed up to and when it was last backed up. Does the output below look like something that we would be able to monitor with the new release?
Mac:~ admin$ tmutil latestbackup -m
/Volumes/.timemachine/F1B44272-919A-4BAFA3F8-80EA84D94B3D/2025-04-14-072537.backup/2025-04-14-072537.backup
Mac:~ admin$ tmutil latestbackup -m -t
2025-04-14-072537
This functionality would help us for keeping track of backups and a great reference.

Yes, with our custom discovery feature slated for end of year we should be able to collect the information you are looking to acquire.

Hi StackOverflown,
I'm not personally familiar with Time Machine backups, could you give me some more detail on what exactly you're wanting to scan/report on?
