I'm looking for a custom SQL report that will provide the following information in one easily exported excel:


Physical Windows servers
Virtual Windows servers
Total servers (Windows)
Physical Linux servers
Virtual Linux servers
Total servers (Linux)
Database servers (SQL)
Database servers (Oracle)

W2K8 Enterprise
W2K8 Standard
W2K3 Enterprise
W2K3 Standard
W2K
Linux
AIX
Iseries
ESX

Can anybody help me?

Could you please upgrade to 5.0 first. 4.2 does not retrieve information on whether a machine is physical or virtual. Upgrade instructions can be found on page 164 and beyond of our online documentation. We recommend performing a database backup before upgrading, just to be safe.
