Delete AD Groups

I ran the report offered in the forum for empty groups and noticed many listed that have been deleted from my Active Directory.  I don't see any cleanup options for groups when deleted from AD.  What is the solution for this?  Could I just purge the table and allow it to start over again?  tblADGroups and tblADMembership
