Engaged Sweeper
Dear Lansweeper Team,

I have noticed that Lansweeper (5166) has a query which can be found under:

1. Main Page
2. Domain
3. Click on the current Domain

Now here I get a Report showing all devices in our AD Domain which is very good.

The Problem however is that it Shows a field in the Report called Description.

This description field is in reality the Computer description found when you logon to the Server and Change the Computer Details under Computer.

We however only use the real Server description from AD (Your field is called AD Info when you drill down clicking on a Server.

Is it possible to Change this query to always Display the AD Info field and not the (Computer) Description field?

Otherwise we have to administratively always maintain two fields (one in AD and one on the Server).

Many thanks for your help.

Regards,

Nils

It is not possible without "hacking" the database.

Maybe not a direct answer to your question:

You can use a GPO startup script and in the script always change the local description to the one in active directory. This way you only need to maintain the description in AD.
