Find file on desktop of current user

Does anyone know the string to search for a file on the desktop of the current user?
Like the windows short %desktop% f.e..

Meaning an environment variable? If so, open a command prompt and type SET to see what variables are set on your computer. If it is an environment variable you're looking for, there isn't one explicitly for the desktop folder, but you can use %userprofile%\Desktop to get there.
