Most likely the internet security settings.

remote support got me to where I can use ALL the action items on my server. So a big thanks!

I am trying to use the tools now on a pc running Vista and getting 'automation server cannot create object'
is this error typical of something in particular?

I had it working with 3.2, but I decided to scrap it and upgrade to 3.5 so I'm thinking all the GPO's that I have in place shouldn't be interfering with LS.
On the server, in the web console, I click on VNC action item and the error I get now is 'no network provider accepted the given network path'

currently i'm running sfc /scannow and MS is ATTEMPTING to resolve this error, I'll let you know if this work.

thanks!

Do you have some GPO that may be causing this? I'm not sure if GPO works with IE, but it's an idea.

ok, new development. I am able to load the web console from the server and the action items work, not including the lsremote (still no joy there) But no action items work when I load the web page from any other pc.

I upgraded from 3.2 to 3.5 first, I didn't feel that comfortable with upgrading so I then decided to wipe the server and then clean install, so this is not an upgrade situation.

Another user had a similar problem: it was caused during the upgrade.
When he copied the new website over the old one he answered "no" to overwrite. (and was missing some changed files)
