It would be nice to be able to use the service tag as a unique identifier. IP Address changes. A server can be re-issued to another roll giving it a new name, and a nic can be replaced. Usually if we have to replace a motherboard they come with the ability to transfer the service tag. It's the most unique thing I can think of that stays with one overall device.
