Currently we delete pc's from lansweeper when they are decommisioned from our sites.

We do something along the line of:

delete from tblcomputers where computername in (select computername from tbltemp)

tbltemp - contains all the pc's we want to delete..

We have now been asked to archive off this data, should one of our pc's ever turn up a car boot sale or something.

is there a way to archive it off and the related details, not just the list of pcs. eg. all the software installed on it.

Thanks.

Great - thanks!

Is there a means to filter "non-active" systems out of all standard reports and dashboard tables, or will we need to do this on report by report basis. Thanks for the clarification.

You will need to do this on a report by report basis.
The non-active are not used for the licensing count pages.

Yes, on the computer screen/custom fields/state

Did this "computer state" field make it into the current release? I can't seem to locate it.

No date has been announced yet.
There is a roadmap, it's only not public

Hi Lansweeper,

when is the nest version scheduled for?

Do you have a roadmap for development?

Next version will contain custom editable fields.
One of this fields will be "computer state" (active/sold/broken/stolen,...)

You will be able to use this information in all your reports (only count licenses for active computers, ...)

I too would love to hear of a solution for this.

We have lots of machines that are no longer live on the network - so would like to move them to some form of "archive" table so they don't show in our "live" data.

This would help with things like software licenses or identifying where old software install - i.e. AV or Service Packs etc can be ignored.

For example at the moment I can see that I have 100 machines without SP2 - but it may be that 50 of these machines have now been decommissioned - therefore I want to mark them as archive so my No SP2 report only shows 50 machines.

If that makes sense!!!

Hope somebody can help.
