I just upgraded to the premium version, and I love it. I can only use this to scan Servers atm as my company has a pretty involved governance procedure for anything that interacts with workstations. That said, I work for a subset of the overall corporation, we have our own child domain inside the forest. I would love the ability to turn on the AD scan, however it appears to scan from the root down. Last thing I need is for corp security to come knocking asking why one of my machines is scanning every device in AD. Being able to set a base OU would be key for me to get some additional auto functionality.

OU scanning is implemented in our next version 3.5 : you can test the beta from

OK, so let me get this straight. It's easier for you to get approval to run things against production servers than workstations? Though, in my experience in dealing with management and how they view networks, this shouldn't surprise me.

Hehe I already have it approved for Servers, and the site is locked down.

I highly recommend taking the time to get Lansweeper approved by your company's security team before deploying it. Have details (bandwidth, website security, etc.) ready. If you haven't already restricted access to the site, do so before bringing it up with them.

Lansweeper is a great product and all, but it's not worth getting in trouble over.
