the ip address shown is the current address. They are laptops, but the machine in question has been in house and had the same ip since install.

This is happening for us, mostly with laptop computers. These computers connect via VPN frequently, so their IP address changes. Is Lansweeper trying to connect to the computers using the stored last known IP address, thus throwing the error? Despite this, everything seems to be scanning OK, as a very recent software deployment is now documented in Lansweeper for the problem clients.
