Hey All;

Ive been doing some reporting work and have a couple of questions if anyone has seen this or has an idea on how to make it better

If I scan for this

C$\program files\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\egui.exe

and I build a report around it it seems to work fine. Btw It wouldnt work with %programfiles% as shown in some examples. Now the problem lies int that some folks have the program installed for this. No biggie I thought and I added this line to be scanned as well

E$\program files\ESET\ESET NOD32 Antivirus\egui.exe

So I got back to my report and things look good till I was doing some comparisons and it seem that now im getting double numbers since it scans for the file in the two locations and im getting 0 and 1 for each PC depending on where it's installed. Is there anyway to look for the file in a more global manner in the PC's?

Also If I compare my scan report to the software report for this file/product I seem to be off, shouldnt they be pretty much equal?

thx!

You should create a custom report for this, there are some examples in the forum/reports section.
You will need some SQL knowledge to get it to work.

But the premium version report builder should make it easier.

Quick question on a similar note (I am using the Demo):

I have added to the Configuration -> Scanned files section the following:

%programfiles%\Microsoft Office\Office\Excel.exe
and it is enabled

Now, where do I see the results of this on the webpage? The goal is to have a report or view that would show how many / which workstations / usernames that would have this file (or other files I choose).

I don't see anywhere on the main dashboard or any of the reports where this is being used...is this a feature for the full version only?

A global way of searching is not possible because it took way too long in our tests.

You could create a report which checks for all computers which have egui.exe found (no matter which location)
This would show you all pc's with the software installed

Also If I compare my scan report to the software report for this file/product I seem to be off, shouldnt they be pretty much equal

It depends on your waittime for each item, maybe you scan software every 30 days and files every 1 day.
