High network utilization

I was running scans from the login script and noticed very high network utilization from branch offices. Are there any tips or tricks to cut down on how much it uses. Or is it more ideal to schedule the scans and let them run at night?

Set the Item Wait Time for EVENTLOG to -1 (in the config utility under Scanning Setup->Item Wait Time)

Can I turn off the eventlog scan because we really do not need that feature.

The first scan usually takes the most bandwidth because the eventlog is read.
You can tweak the amount of simultaneous scans to lower the bandwith.
