We have recently changed some of our subnets and all of our workstations are DHCP. Lansweeper has not updated the machines in a week now with the new IP. All machines are up and running without issue and nothing else has changed and they still belong to AD. rescanning the machines manually doesn't change anything. How can we fix this.

Then this shouldn't be possible. Could you contact support@lansweeper.com and provide us with screenshots of the duplication behavior you are describing.

No they were windows machines

So these were NOT Windows computers? IP addresses are only used as unique identifiers for non-Windows machines without a MAC address.

Makes sense now. so we will just remove the old inventory items with the wrong IP's

Are these Windows computers? If so, this should not be possible. IP addresses are never used as unique Windows computer identifiers.

Actually i am not sure if this is a bug or not or being changed. All of the assets were rediscovered as New and showing correct IP's. the assets are being duplicated.

So Asset 1 - old ip
Asset 1 - new ip

why wouldn't the asset just update its IP?

Please contact support@lansweeper.com and provide us with:
- Link to this forum thread.
- Screenshots of one problem machine's Lansweeper webpage. Show us the following tabs: Summary, Scan Time, Errors (if it exists).
- Screenshot of a connection test performed to the machine using the testconnection.exe: http://download.lansweeper.com/tools50/TestConnection.exe
Perform the test on your Lansweeper server, connecting to the machine, and show us the entire test window.
