Hello,

Just upgraded to the Premium version and I am trying to get the LSRemote to work. I am able to launch the exe file from a share and successfully connect to target PC's. However, when I try to use the "remote control" link from the web page for LANSweeper, nothing happens. Below is a picture of how I have the configuration setup in the management console. Please let me know what I might be doing wrong.

\\gary_peters2\tools\remotecontrol\lsremote.exe gary_peters2 {computer} {domain}

gary_peters2 is the name of my PC which is where the SQL database and LANSweeper install is.

Thanks.

If you want to use the custom actions in Firefox I suggest you test : http://www.lansweeper.com/forum/yaf_postst1514_Lansweeper-Service-351-update-1-beta.aspx

Success at last. You found the last piece of the puzzle. Thanks again for your help. Keep up the great work.

Your windows user "the one with which you start your browser" must have administrative permissions on the client and the "remote registry" service must be running.

Ok, looks like we are getting close. Ping now works since I made the ActiveX changes you linked to.

Now, when I try to run remote control I get an error that says "Remote Registry Access Failed". Any more suggestions?

Thanks a bunch for yuor help. The product is doing everything I want it to already, and havnig the remote control working would be icing on the cake at this point.

Do I need to change the configuration that is default or move a file to the lansweeper folders before Ping should work?

When I try to run ping, I get an "error on page" in the bottom left portion of the IE screen. Nothing else happens.

I am able to run the command that is in the configuration from the "run" line on my PC and it works fine. Below is how the ping command is listed in the configuration.

cmd.exe /K "ping.exe {computer}"

"ping" should work on any computer.

Yes, "tools" is a share on the "gary_peters2" server.

I changed the path to be the same as what you posted, and still not having any luck. I have not tried any other ilnks so am not sure if those will work either. Are there any that you suggest I try over any of the others?

Should be something like
\\gary_peters2\tools\remotecontrol\lsremote.exe {computer}

The "tools" is a share on the "gary_peters2" server right?

Are you able to run the other custom actions?
